MT. DOUBT Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday
Scotland On Sunday, 12 March 2017, MT. DOUBT

MT. DOUBT began two years ago in Edinburgh as the solo project of singer-songwriter Leo Bargery, and is now a very promising sextet.

They release latest single ’Tourists’ through Scottish Fiction records on 31 March as a split 7’ vinyl alongside Dunfermline band Foreignfox (for their single Lights Off Carry Me Home).

Mt. Doubt have been on our radar for a while. They’ve played T In The Park, supported artists like White Lies and Admiral Fallow and Bargery’s distinctive vocals and accomplished songwriting have led to airplay on Roddy Hart’s BBC Radio Scotland show and BBC 6 Music.

See Mt. Doubt and Foreignfox perform live together on 7 April at Beat Generator in Dundee and 8 April at Nice ’N’ Sleazy’s in Glasgow. Support for both gigs comes from young Edinburgh quartet SKJØR who we featured last year. Listen to ’Tourists’ at https://soundcloud.com/mtdoubt

ST.MARTiiNS Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday
Scotland On Sunday, 5 March 2017, WYLDE

Combining the talents of Mark Johnston and Katie Lynch, whose distinctive vocals first came to our attention when she fronted the band Seems as a teenager, the Dundee duo ST.MARTiiNS manage to conjure up an enticing blend of jazz, pop, electronic infusions and prominent guitars and they have been building a reputation for their original sound.

Swelling to a five piece when they play live, ST.MARTiiNS follow the release of their single About You on 17 March, with a slot on the prestigious BBC Introducing stage at Glasgow’s forthcoming 6 Music Festival on 22 March.

The band are set to embark on a nationwide tour with Pronto Mama in May, ahead of the release of their Other Humans EP and a headline show in Glasgow’s King Tut’s in June. For a taste of great things to come we recommend checking out the video for the recent single Bad Art
