VISTAS Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday

Scotland On Sunday, 2 April 2017, Vistas

Penicuick indie-rock outfit Vistas have built up an impressive following since forming last year.

Single launches at Edinburgh’s Mash House and Electric Circus sold out and the band have been heard on Radio Scotland and Amazing Radio.

Boasting a singalong sensibility which lightly nods to The Strokes, Snow Patrol and the Arctic Monkeys, the four-piece have also been garnering interest further afield, thanks to inclusion on several highly regarded Spotify playlists. Their recent release, Feel Alive has been played more than 200,000 times, taking the total number of streams for their songs past 500,000.

Their next gig will be at Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms on 21 April, playing our (free) Wide Days showcase (Vistas Tickets Here) along with former Under The Radar act The Vegan Leather and Declan Welsh. From our point of view Vistas are set to go far.

The Lapelles Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday

Scotland On Sunday, 17 July 2016, The Lapelles

The Lapelles are five youngsters from East Kilbride who create vibrant and exciting indie-pop songs.

Last week, we watched them play a triumphant set on the T Break Stage at T In The Park, where – perhaps partly thanks to profile-boosting support slots with the likes of The Kooks, Blossoms and The Last Shadow Puppets – they performed to a sizeable audience, comfortably one of our T In The Park highlights.

The quintet look poised to make a major impact; they’ve got the radio-friendly songs, an electrifying live show, a growing fanbase, and they recently signed a management deal with the company that represents heavyweight acts like Arctic Monkeys and The Last Shadow Puppets.

We recommend seeing them live at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival on 4-6 August, or Electric Fields Festival from 26-27 August.
