ANNIE BOOTH Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday

Scotland On Sunday, 15 October 2017, Annie Booth

Edinburgh-based Annie Booth is a familiar face on the Central Belt scene thanks to providing vocal and guitar duties for Mt Doubt. Now striking out as an act in her own right, she is due to release her debut album An Unforgiving Light on Friday, on what is being billed as a joint venture between the labels Scottish Fiction and Last Night From Glasgow.

Citing early influences such as Turin Brakes and Bombay Bicycle Club, she has recorded a confident collection of songs which serve to highlight a great voice and some interesting guitar sounds. The track Chasm comes accompanied by a video shot by veteran music photographer Brian Sweeney, while the clip for the rockier second single, Over My Dead Body, came out on Wednesday.
An Unforgiving Light will be launched with gigs at Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s on Thursday, and Glasgow’s Hug And Pint on Friday visit www.facebook.com/annieboothmusic
