FOGGY CITY ORPHAN Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday
Scotland On Sunday, 24 September 2017, Foggy City Orphan

Glasgow quartet, Foggy City Orphan combine family members with school friends – brothers John and Paul McLinden on guitar and vocal duties,  and Michael Valente on bass and Stephen Sweeney on drums.

Taken from their debut album, which was produced by Paul Savage (Mogwai, Franz Ferdinand, Arab Strap), the band release excellent new single Fake News Blues on 9 October. It’s a short, sharp slice of topical indie/rock social commentary, poking fun at Trump and fake news in general.

The single has gained airplay from Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, Billy Sloan via BBC Radio Scotland and they played XpoNorth and TRNSMT Festivals earlier this year.

Catch them live on 26 October when they headline a BBC Introducing gig at Glasgow’s King Tuts.

MARBLE GODS Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday

Scotland On Sunday, 30 July 2017, Marble Gods

Marble Gods are Glasgow art-pop trio consisting of Eimear Coyle (guitar / vocals), Connell King (bass) and Kieran Coyle (drums). Their sound is fun and upbeat, with a tongue-in-cheek humour.

Unusually, when they self-released their first physical offering at Nice N Sleazy in Glasgow on Thursday – an EPK titled Song – they chose to do so on the super retro cassette format.

They’ve secured airplay from Nicola Meighan on BBC Radio Scotland and have magazines like DIY onboard. The band have also supported artists like Bis, The Spook School and Breakfast Muff.
