Scotland On Sunday, 28 January 2018, EASY

Formed while studying at University of the West of Scotland in Ayr, Easy are a fun, eclectic-sounding five-piece now based in Glasgow.

Debut single ‘Bringin’ Me Down’ is released on 9 February with a Scottish tour to coincide, visiting Dundee on 13 February, followed by Aberdeen, Stirling, Edinburgh and ending in Glasgow on 19 February.

Fans wearing a colourful / Hawaiian shirt to any show will receive a free download of their single, see www.facebook.com/groovyeasy and get tickets at: http://groovyeasy.bigcartel.com

LYLO Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday

Scotland On Sunday, 21 January 2018, LYLO

Imagine the opening bars to Spandau Ballet’s hit Gold being warped through a psychoactive filter, then channel a bit of Scritti Politti under extreme duress and you might just be able to form a musical picture of what LYLO sound like.

At times their compositions come close to inducing sax rage in the listener, but it is this “Marmite effect” which makes the Glasgow-based five-piece such a compelling proposition.

Championed by BBC Radio Scotland’s music monster Vic Galloway, LYLO have also captured the ears of the selectors at SXSW where, providing they meet with the critical approval of an America immigration bureaucrat, they are set to showcase their music in March.

In the meantime, the band mark the release of their new single Yeah Boy on El Rancho Records with a gig on Friday at Glasgow’s Stereo.
