Scotland On Sunday, 5 November 2017, Pure Grief

Pure Grief are a brilliant, tongue-in-cheek, grunge / rock trio, hailing from Caithness in the far northern Highlands.

Nominated for Best Rock/Alternative act at the last month’s Scottish Alternative Music Awards, they’ve performed at the likes of XpoNorth and Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival as well as supporting bands such as Fatherson.

Their new double A-side ‘Gossamer / Get It? Got It. Good.’ is out on Friday with a launch gig the following day at Y-Not Bar & Grill in Thurso. Next month they co-headline a mini Scottish tour with Donnie Willow – visiting The Hug & Pint in Glasgow on 14 December, the Tooth & Claw in Inverness on 15 December, The Tunnels in Aberdeen on 16 December and Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh on17 December.

NOVEMBER LIGHTS Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday
Scotland On Sunday, 30 October 2016, November Lights

Originally from The Three Towns area, northwest of Kilwinning, indie-pop band November Lights now live and study in Glasgow.

The young trio have supported bands like Fatherson and The LaFontaines and we first encountered them at the XpoNorth festival then again in August via youth music touring initiative Hit The Road.

Their catchy new single ’A.U.X’ is an excellent indication of what to expect from their EP ‘Talk’ due out at the end of next month.

In support of the release of th EP, the band embark on a mini-tour, performing at Cafe Drummonds in Aberdeen on 9 December at The Hug and Pint in Glasgow on 10 December and at Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh on 11 December. Retro Video Club and Audiokicks join them on tour.
