THE 101 Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday

Scotland On Sunday, 31 December 2017, The 101

Hailing from the north east of Scotland, five-piece indie-pop band The 101 have achieved a lot in their short time together.

Formed in 2016, they have clocked up over 150,000 plays via Spotify, (with latest single Clichè making it onto the Hot New Bands playlist), been championed by Jim Gellatly, gained airplay on BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and performed live on STV2.

The band also collaborated with Robert Gordon’s College chamber choir and they’ve supported acts including Fatherson, Fickle Friends and The Little Kicks.
In November they won a Pride of Aberdeen ‘Ones To Watch’ Award and we couldn’t agree more – The 101 are unquestionably a top tip for 2018.

Their next gig takes place at Cafe Drummonds in Aberdeen on 13 January, with support from Scott Wallace. More info visit: www.facebook.com/the101official

ROSIE SULLIVAN Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday

Scotland On Sunday, 8 October 2017, Rosie Sullivan

Fifthteen-year-old singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rosie Sullivan hails from the Isle of Lewis.
We first encountered Rosie at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival in August and were immediately impressed by her songwriting.

She has been championed by Stornoway’s BBC Rapal, and STV2, won a UK-wide songwriting competition (leading to a recording session at EMI studios), busked her way around mainland Scotland and the Western Isles, and performed at Thornhill Music Festival.

See her live as part of youth music touring project Hit The Road on 19 October at The Old Hairdressers in Glasgow, 20 October at The Mash House in Edinburgh and on 21 October at Artizan in Stornoway.
