Some of our top must see bands are Edinburgh youngsters INDIGO VELVET whom we featured in our Scotland On Sunday new music column at the start of this year. Also, electro-pop four-piece TONGUES who played our Wide Days music business festival in April and Paisley art-pop quartet THE VEGAN LEATHER who we first saw via Hit The Road at Electric Fields. Another highlight we recommend is Highlands [but Glasgow-based] act BLOODLINES.
We’ll be previewing various acts across the next few weeks.

Singles Religion and You Never Knew Me lit up the blogosphere, receiving over one million plays across SoundCloud and Spotify, and a No 1 spot on Hypem.com
They sound like a household name; uplifting vocals, soaring melodies and insanely catchy hooks coupled with a masterful use of synthesisers, vocoders, bleeps and blips. The real surprise is a major record label hasn’t signed them!
We were so impressed, we’ve booked them for our Wide Days festival on 22 April at La Belle Angèle [click for FREE tickets] in Edinburgh. With a new release scheduled for late April / early May, they’ll be announcing live appearances to coincide shortly. We predict big things.
Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon run run Scotland’s music convention, Wide Days, which takes place from 22-23 April in Edinburgh. See www.widedays.com
