VISTAS Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday

Scotland On Sunday, 2 April 2017, Vistas

Penicuick indie-rock outfit Vistas have built up an impressive following since forming last year.

Single launches at Edinburgh’s Mash House and Electric Circus sold out and the band have been heard on Radio Scotland and Amazing Radio.

Boasting a singalong sensibility which lightly nods to The Strokes, Snow Patrol and the Arctic Monkeys, the four-piece have also been garnering interest further afield, thanks to inclusion on several highly regarded Spotify playlists. Their recent release, Feel Alive has been played more than 200,000 times, taking the total number of streams for their songs past 500,000.

Their next gig will be at Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms on 21 April, playing our (free) Wide Days showcase (Vistas Tickets Here) along with former Under The Radar act The Vegan Leather and Declan Welsh. From our point of view Vistas are set to go far.

CAMPFIRES IN WINTER Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday
Scotland On Sunday, 12 February 2017, Campfires In Winter

Campfires In Winter are an indie-rock quartet from Croy.

They release their debut album ‘Ischaemia’ on 24 February through excellent Glasgow label Olive Grove Records and it was produced by Andy Bush (The Twilight Sad, We Were Promised Jetpacks), thanks to funding from Creative Scotland.

The band have built a loyal fanbase and have enjoyed airplay from Steve Lamacq (BBC Radio 6) and Vic Galloway (BBC Radio Scotland) as well as coverage in newspapers and online blogs.

Their sound is a powerful mix of post-rock guitars, dreamy piano, multi-part vocal harmonies, and Robert Canavan’s lilting Scottish accent on top – it’s a fantastic debut!

They launch the album with support from American Clay and Book Group at The Old Hairdressers in Glasgow on 24 February. Watch the official video for lead single ’Free Me From The Howl’ press Play below:
