Read full article on Scotsman.com in association with AIM (Association of Independent Music) Aino Elina Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday 8 September 2019: photo by Dale R Murray Aino Elina is a solo artist originally from Pöntsö in Lapland, Finland, who began her singer-songwriter career studying at Leeds College of Music, eventually calling Edinburgh home.Creating ethereal, Nordic electro-pop, Elina writes in both Finnish and English. Next single Sliding Down was officially released on Friday, and as with most of her music is produced by Dave Lloyd aka Dave Oscillation from excellent electronic trio (and former UTR act) Stillhound who work from Edinburgh’s Lost Oscillation studios. Elina has secured festival slots in Scotland and in her native Finland and been championed by media in both countries, including The Skinny who included her song ‘Saippuaa' in their best of 2018. Elina's next live outing is at Bar Brig in Edinburgh on 6 October with Isla Pitkethly accompanying on cello.
