An electro-pop five-piece from Glasgow, AmatrArt caught our attention at XpoNorth festival earlier this month.A relatively new band, formed in 2014, they released their self-titled debut EP late last year via their own record label Del Trem Records and received airplay from BBC Radio Scotland’s Vic Galloway who also tipped them as ones to watch for 2015.Armed with plenty of electronic gadgets, synths and guitars, AmatrArt create a pulsating, ambient electro sound with catchy hooks and multi-layered vocal lines.Their next gig is an opening slot on the T Break stage at T In The Park at Strathallan on 11 July, followed by a headline gig at King Tuts in Glasgow on 21 July as part of the King Tut’s Summer Nights festival . New Glasgow venue The Hug and Pint hosts a launch party in September.Listen at: www.amatrartmusic.com Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon run the Born To Be Wide music business events visit www.borntobewide.co.uk For consideration as our artist of the week or any other news please contact: Derick Mackinnon
