Glasgow's Dead Man Fall have been making waves since coming to the attention of expat US talkshow host Craig Ferguson At the end of 2014 the band were due to appear on his last programme, but they were denied the opportunity because they didn’t get a visa in time. However, Ferguson had his crew, studio audience and various guests lip sync their song Bang Your Drum, pushing it to No 1 on the Amazon download chart in the process.Back home, the band have been going from strength to strength and their latest single, Calexico – an upbeat piece of synth, bass and guitar driven pop, complete with mariachi trumpet interjections, and inspired by the visa rejection – is released this weekend. The song is due to be featured on tomorrow’s Janice Forsyth show on Radio Scotland, and the band play Glasgow’s Oran Mor on 23 December.
