Ded Rabbit are four brothers from Yorkshire who moved to Edinburgh to hone their musical skills. With hints of the Housemartins and early Arctic Monkeys, infused with a twist of funk and original lyrics, they have created a distinctive and highly-listenable sound of their own.We caught them on the Glasgow date of their current tour and were particularly impressed with frontman, Eugene Gaine, whose frenetic stage antics see him combine lead-vocal duties with turns at the guitar and saxophone.Ded Rabbit’s EP, ‘Wake Up In A Dream’, was self-released on 7 February and recorded at Rocket Science Studios whose diverse range of credits include Texas, Dougie MacLean, Belle & Sebastian and the Walking With Dinosaurs soundtrack.XFM’s Jim Gellatly promptly made its first song, Better On The Day, his breakout track of the week and there have been plays on Radio Scotland too. The attention is well-deserved. Ded Rabbit are great! For more on Ded Rabbit visit www.ded-rabbit.com Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon run the Born To Be Wide music industry and social events visit www.borntobewide.co.uk
