Words by Derick Mackinnon and Olaf Furniss. Read on Scotsman.com https://scotsman.com/arts-and-culture/music

DOPESICKFLY are a Glasgow-based collective that incorporate a variety of sounds and styles, reflective of their diverse cultural backgrounds, with members hailing from the Scottish Highlands, Ireland, US, Indonesia and the Philippines.

They’ve played festivals such as Common Ground Festival, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, Doune The Rabbit Hole and Edinburgh Jazz Festival.

The group have also been championed by BBC Introducing in Scotland with Phoebe I-H and Shereen Cutkelvin, via The Afternoon Show with Grant Stott, and a glowing review by our sister paper The Scotsman at the UEFA Euro fanzone in Glasgow last year, which is also where comedian, actor and singer Karen Dunbar met the band.

They then collaborated on a series of outdoor writing workshops, which in turn led to an original verse being added to DOPESICKFLYsong We Are One by Dunbar, it’s due for release this coming Friday.

They perform live on 20 December at Govan and Linthouse Parish Church in partnership with The Glasgow Barons’ project Musicians in Exile visit https://ffm.to/weareonesong.OIS | Facebook @DopeSickFly | Instagram @dopesickfly | Twitter @dopesickfly | Spotify
