The Isle of Lewis has produced some great musical talents, many of whom have songwriting abilities which belie their age. Eleanor Nicolson is the latest of these and at 17 is already an accomplished artist with some striking tunes to her name.Working out of Stornoway’s Wee Studio, she is part of a group promoting gigs at the town’s An Lanntair venue. In 2014 Nicolson played both Belladrum and the Heb Celt Festivals and followed up with an appearance at this year’s Celtic Connections. She already has three EPs, combining a great voice with a light country touch and a pop sensibility. Her most recent, entitled White Noise, was released a couple of months ago and features It’s Complicated, one of our favourite tracks of the year. Nicolson plays a free showcase at XpoNorth in Inverness on Thursday at the Scotch & Rye venue.Listen to one of Scotland’s most promising young acts at: https://soundcloud.com/eleanornicolson/its-complicated Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon run the Born To Be Wide music industry social events and seminars www.borntobewide.co.uk To win tickets for this year's Lindisfarne Festival go to http://bit.ly/LindisfarneFest-Win Under the Radar in Scotland On Sunday is in association with LINDISFARNE FESTIVAL
