See Scotsman.com in association with AIM (Association of Independent Music) EM|ME Artist of the Week in Scotland On SundayScotland On Sunday, 14 October 2018, EM|MEEmily Meekel, who performs as EM|ME, is a young singer songwriter raised in Holland, now based in Glasgow.We first encountered EM|ME performing solo at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival (through youth music project Musicplus+ ) and she’s since enlisted a full band.Released on 26 October, Meekel’s debut EP ‘I K’ (which means me in Dutch) is a brilliant indie-pop offering, with soul, jazz and R’n’B influences. EM|ME have been championed in the UK by Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio, in the Netherlands by public service station NPO Radio 2, and they’ve also played at festivals like Oxfordshire’s The Big Feastival and King Tut’s Summer Nights.The band launch their EP at Broadcast in Glasgow on 11 November.
