Read on Scotsman.com [in association with Electric Fields Festival] FUTURE GET DOWN Artist of the Week in Scotland On SundayOne of the highlights of the recent XpoNorth showcase in Inverness, was a packed gig featuring two men dressed in bee-keeper outfits, with an additional three musicians providing a range of additional instrumentation. The band in question, Future Get Down, were formed by bassist Ally Dennis and award-winning brewer Oli Kass. Both were in Edinburgh electro-groove outfit Homework and their new musical vehicle ploughs a similar furrow, albeit enhanced by the vocals of percussionist Jeanne Laidlaw. This winning combination is exemplified on the recently-released track, End Of The World After Party http://bit.ly/FGDUTR With a handful of cool shows already under the belt, including at Edinburgh’s Caves and the Stag & Dagger Festival, the band’s next scheduled live outing is at the Electric Fields Festival. By then, we expect the other three bee keeper outfits will have finally arrived.Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon run music industry seminar and social night Born To Be Wide visit www.borntobewide.co.uk Under the Radar is in association with Electric Fields Festival Headline acts Frightened Rabbit and Dizzee Rascal are joined by Band Of Horses, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Glass Animals, Arab Strap, Kate Tempest and many more over a weekend which also celebrates the best in Scottish street food and drink.
