Twenty-four-year-old Leif Coffield’s new single ‘Bloodstains & Love Notes’ was inspired by feelings of heartbreak and entrapment. The follow-up to his excellent single Monsta-san, self-released on 3 July. It has already enjoyed airplay from BBC Music Introducing with both Emily Pilbeam on 6 Music and Vic Galloway on BBC Radio Scotland giving it a spin. He's also been championed by Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio.
Glittering yet dark, ‘Bloodstains & Love Notes’ isn't easily categorised. On the one hand, it’s a slice of slickly-produced electro-pop, yet it’s also gothic and angst-ridden. With an entertaining and engaging personality, (see his tongue-in-cheek video clips on his social channels) and diverse influences, ranging from Billie Eilish to Bon Iver, Coffield is a really interesting artist, well worth seeking out.
