Misty Galactic, Scotland On Sunday, 2 May 2021

As a teenage emo fan who also liked electronic acts such as Justice and Erol Alkan, Misty Galactic (aka Sophie Craik) indulged her tastes by sneaking into Dundee’s Reading rooms. However, it was only as she was finishing university, that she decided to try her hand at producing her own music.
Mainlining YouTube tutorials about recording software Ableton, gave rise to Misty Galactic, with her live show honed on Edinburgh’s drag scene. The result is an atmospheric, edgy pop sound with echoes of 90s acts including Massive Attack, Portishead, while her new single, I’m Done, is guaranteed to appeal to fans of Garbage. It has already picked up a respectable amount of streams of Spotify thanks to some savvy DIY promotion, further boosted with support from online publications including Alive & Amplified. Craik has collaborated with a range of fellow creatives such as Dundee hardcore supremos To Kill Achilles, Mark Tindal (Open Eyes Productions) and visual artist, Marc Sharp. In the coming months expect more exciting releases, including the fruits of her latest collaboration with Aberdeen producer Vagrant Real Estate. https://mistygalactic.com/
