Roma Rose | Dragon Soop Artist of the Week Scotland On Sunday, 26 December 2021

Words by Derick Mackinnon and Olaf Furniss. Read on Scotsman.com https://www.scotsman.com/arts-and-culture/music

Featured by BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Scotland, Amazing Radio and plenty more, Roma Rose is a talented folk-pop, singer songwriter based in Edinburgh.

She was shortlisted for Song of the Year in Weekender Mag, played the BBC Upload Edinburgh stage (one of only six acts to be chosen from thousands to perform), and her latest singles Mother of the Boy in the Band and Earned Me are testament to why she is garnering so much high profile support.

Rose writes about love, motherhood and through the eyes of her young daughter. Earned Me is an empowerment ballad about self worth inspired by one of Rose’ close friends (with her permission), in her early 30s in a casual relationship.

All of her songs are written and produced by an all female team, including long time collaborator Jess Sharman (Gabrielle Aplin, Ward Thomas) and Jennifer Ann Keller (Astræa/Ward Thomas). Complete with stripped-back vocals and ethereal production techniques, delicate harmonies and subtle percussive details, Rose is definitely one to watch for 2022, see https://www.romaroseepk.com | Facebook: @thisisromarose | Instagram: @thisisromarose | Twitter: @thisisromarose
