Read on Scotsman.com [in association with Electric Fields Festival] SAVAGE MANSION Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday Savage Mansion came into existence when former Poor Things frontman Craig Angus decided to form a band with musicians who shared his love of Jonathan Richman the Pixies, Pavement and Wire. The early results are promising, with a couple of excellent singles displaying the type of lyrical wit and effortless musical cool of fellow Glaswegians Catholic Action, which is not surprising given that the bands share a member in Jamie Dubber. Savage Mansion are set to play a Made In Scotland show at Edinburgh's Summerhall on 19 August and a slot at Electric Fields at the beginning of September. Then in November they go into the studio to record their debut album. One of Scotland's most promising new bands, we anticipate a feast for the ears.Listen at https://soundcloud.com/savagemansion Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon run music industry seminar and social night, Born To Be Wide.
