We first encountered Rhona Macfarlane a few years ago when she toured as part of ace youth music project Hit The Road, we later featured her as our Artist of the Week in The Scotsman (<<).
A graduate of The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, as you might expect she’s a highly accomplished musician and comfortable on guitar or piano, often introducing new sounds with the addition of string accompaniments. She has toured with the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, performed at Celtic Connections, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival and been championed across the BBC including by Janice Forsyth and Grant Stott on their BBC In The Afternoons show on BBC Radio Scotland, RAPAL on BBC Radio nan Gàidheal, BBC Introducing, The Roddy Hart Show, Travelling Folk and the Iain Anderson Show as well as airplay from Louise Mason at Reform Radio, Folk Radio UK and plenty of smaller blogs.
Her latest EP Closing The Window was released in November last year and has already picked up support from BBC In The Afternoons, The Daily Record, Americana UK, Scots Whay Hae and lots more.
