The Lost Cafe Sessions

The Lost Cafe Sessions is an album of material, originally recorded at The Sound Café Studios near Edinburgh in 1991, featuring tracks from some of the most promising young indie bands of the time.

The project was conceived by two aspiring student music entrepreneurs from Fife - Jim Russell and Ian Harrower, under their then promotions company Smithfield Entertainments, they planned to set up a record label and release this collection of sessions. Unfortunately, as the years passed by, the master tapes were misplaced, lost - until earlier this year (thanks to lockdown and having some time on his hands), the former studio owner and sound engineer, Dave Gray began digging around and found a copy of the sessions gathering dust in a storage cupboard!

Some of the bands featured on the album include: The Real McCoy, Elephant Noise, Some Device, Seeing Red, Silent Falls, Blue on Shock, Tom’s New Shoes, Pure Blind Panic, Roy G Biv

All donations and proceeds from the album are going directly to the Siblings Reunited (STAR), a charity that provides safe together space for siblings separated within the Scottish Care System find out more and make a donation https://siblingsreunited.org.uk
