Read on Scotsman.com in association with Wide Days ANCHOR LANE Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday Glasgow heavy rockers Anchor Lane have been making quite a name for themselves both at home and further afield since releasing their debut EP, New Beginning in early 2017. This week they announced that they have been booked for Download Festival in Donnington in June, which will be followed by slots at Stone Free in London and then Hard Rock Hell in Wales in November.Boasting a vocal style in the same vein as grunge pioneers such as Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell, the band are also likely to appeal to fans of stalwart Glasgow rockers Gun. Currently working on an album, Anchor Lane will be embarking on a series of Scottish dates taking in The Church in Dundee on 25 May, Opium in Edinburgh the following day and The Garage (Attic) in Glasgow on 26 May. If current form is anything to go by, it is likely to be the last chance to see them in such an intimate setting.
