Read on Scotsman.com [in association with Hit The Road] CRYSTAL Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday Crystal got off to a flying start at the end of 2016 when they won a public vote to play Edinburgh’s Hogmanay and were then asked to perform in a documentary presented by legendary producer Tony Visconti. Since then the four-piece have been honing their craft, penning some great songs and selling out Glasgow’s Nice’N’Sleazy.Last autumn their single Sugar Sweet, which featured a video shot in a Galician quarry, was arguably the best under the radar release of 2017. It was a genius blend of quirky synths and jagged guitars which brilliantly complemented the vocals of front-woman Anna Shields. Its follow-up, Heaven, released last week, is equally infectious. Sitting perfectly with the The Breeders’ Wait In The Car, which preceded it by a month, it positions Crystal as one of Scotland's most promising prospects. The band play a free showcase at our Wide Days convention.
