DRIFT, Scotland On Sunday, 5 July 2020
Words by Derick Mackinnon and Olaf Furniss. Read on Scotsman.com
Hailing from Paisley, DRIFT are singer-songwriter Linzi Clark and producer Andrew Quinn. The duo create ethereal electronica pop, and have collaborated with fellow Paisley band and UTR favourites The Vegan Leather who remixed their single Edge of Love (proceeds going to the Black Lives Matter movement). TVL’s Gianluca Bernacchi and Marie Collins also provided press photos (pictured) for DRIFT.
Released on Thursday, their new single Lifeline is their most vibrant and danceable yet, with Quinn providing vocal harmonies for the first time, complimenting Clark’s dreamy lead vocals. They’ve been championed by BBC Radio Scotland, Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio, Tenement TV, The Skinny, Renfrewshire’s Mill Magazine and played at Paisley’s The Bungalow, for Sofar Sounds and at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut.
