Glasgow-based trio Halfrican are as intriguing and captivating as their name and tongue-in-cheek photo suggest. The multi-international band consists of songwriter / guitarist Sancho Büna, drummer ‘Jet’ Jackson Marlette and bassist Choi Paul.Their sound is genuinely original; an amalgamation of punk, garage, surf and 60s rock and roll influences which combine to produce some brash but brilliant DIY guitar driven noise-pop.Double AA side ‘Life Is Hard’ / ‘He’s Around’ is released tomorrow on 7” vinyl and digital download via Glasgow’s El Rancho Records You can see Halfrican play a free entry live show curated by innovative Edinburgh label/blogger/promoter Song, By Toad this Wednesday at Paradise Palms near Bristo Square in Edinburgh, followed by gigs in London, Paris and Rotterdam. Summer festivals at home include Doune The Rabbit Hole and The Wickerman Festival.Listen at: https://soundcloud.com/elrancho Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon run music industry night Born To Be Wide visit www.borntobewide.co.uk For consideration as our artist of the week or any other news please contact: Derick Mackinnon
