Therefore, it seems appropriate for this column to get into the spirit of things and introduce The Winter Tradition a hard-working band from Edinburgh who are the epitome of the DIY ethic. The four-piece self-release their self-produced second album, Lumi, tomorrow and begin a series of dates in May, with an appearance at Brew On The Bogg this Saturday. Call, the new single, is accompanied by a Shootback Productions video, filmed in the Merchant City’s St Andrew’s In The Square, once the preferred place of worship for Glasgow’s tobacco lords. Like the rest of the album, the song fuses hints of Celtic rock, with a well-produced pop sensibility likely to appeal to appeal to an ahem, broad church of the music electorate.Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon run music industry night Born To Be Wide visit www.borntobewide.co.uk For consideration as our artist of the week or any other news please contact: Derick Mackinnon
