Words by Derick Mackinnon and Olaf Furniss. Read on Scotsman.com

Lloyd James Fay first came to our attention when we featured his band, Thula Borah in Under The Radar in 2017. They parted ways last year and Fay has been writing brilliant solo material ever since. Released via Kill Jester Records on Friday, his Fake Depth EP features lead single Idiocracy, which is an expertly written, scathing social commentary on modern living, social media and technology.

He’s received airplay from BBC Radio Scotland, been championed by publications like Stereogum, Upset Magazine, smaller blogs like Jockrock and Discovery Music and slots at festivals such as Celtic Connections.

Unsurprisingly the scheduled EP launch and tour, due to happen this month, have been postponed, along with a number of summer festival appearances.
