Dundee's The Mirror Trap [www.facebook.com/themirrortrap] have built a decent profile in Scotland, enjoying a T-Break slot at T In The Park, as well as recording sessions on Vic Galloway’s Radio Scotland show and BBC Introducing. However, it is further afield where the band’s fame looks set to really grow, as they embark on a tour taking in some of Europe’s most respected festivals in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Croatia and Russia. With their Stay Young album and recent EP Silent Men, the band have honed an 80s indie sound which manages to be anthemic and rousing, without resorting to the air-punching cringe of so many current acts who simply mainlined their dad’s U2 collection. The track Killing Time http://bit.ly/1S3WY7Q is one of our favourites, and like many of The Mirror Trap’s releases, is accompanied by a video. We recommend checking out all their clips on www.youtube.com/themirrortrap and look forward to seeing them at Belladrum, when they return to these shores.Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon run the Born To Be Wide music business events visit www.borntobewide.co.uk For consideration as our artist of the week or any other news please contact: Derick Mackinnon
