From Lewis Capaldi to Runrig, Germany has long played a role in breaking and sustaining Scottish artists, so it should come as no surprise that the country has been fertile territory for rock outfit Cold Years. The Aberdonian four-piece have played sell out shows on the other side of the North Sea and it was a festival performance there which led to them signing a deal with the label arm of entertainment giant eOne. This in turn resulted in their song Breathe being used in a TV sound-bed by North America’s NHL ice hockey league, reflecting their likely appeal to fans of Canadian stalwarts Bryan Adams and Nickelback.
In a curious twist further south, Cold Years also saw their streams soar in Mexico recently, after local superstar José Madero shared a link the band on his Instagram account. Closer to home, the band were nominated for a Heavy Music Award and recently released their second album, Paradise. Visit https://www.facebook.com/coldyearsband
