Scotland On Sunday, 15 May 2016, Mark W. Georgsson
Faces and Places is the debut album from Mark W. Georgsson produced by Rod Jones of Idlewild, and the single, ‘The Ballad of the Nearly Man’ is due to be released by Last Night From Glasgow Records on 2 June. The song is a duet with Katie McArthur and the B-side features an Icelandic version by Sigríður Thorlacius and Arnari Guðjónssyni [singer from Icelandic band Leaves].The label is as exciting as the record - a crowd-funded concept with members paying £50 a year in return for the label's output and access to members-only gigs. The first of these is the launch party, featuring acts from the label's roster, somewhere in Glasgow on 2 June. Georgsson also plays Electric Fields at Drumlanrig Castle in August and Iceland Airwaves in Reykjavik in November. To listen to the track visit: https://soundcloud.com/markwgeorgsson/sets/aa-single/s-jYCn1 For more info on Last Night From Glasgow Records see: www.lastnightfromglasgow.com Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon run the Born To Be Wide music industry social events and seminars www.borntobewide.co.uk Under The Radar new music column in Scotland On Sunday is in association with LINDISFARNE FESTIVAL
