Edinburgh act The Blueswater have built a solid reputation in blues circles, both in Scotland and further afield.Fronted by the exotic Felipe Schrieberg, the band expand and contract according to the occasion, ranging from a duo to double digits. And on 10 May they are due to perform as a six-piece, on STV’s Live At Five Show to coincide with the release of their five-track EP.Four days later they are off to Zurich to play the Blossom Blues event, and at the end of the month will make multiple appearances at the Islay Festival of Music & Malt (the band have a song dedicated to the water of life). In the ultimate act of exporting coals to Newcastle, The Blueswater then tour the US in June, taking in Chicago, St. Louis, Nashville and New Orleans. Anyone with a limited travel budget can look forward to August, when the band are set to become the most ubiquitous act on the Fringe, with 100 shows scheduled over three weeks.
