Glasgow duo Sacred Paws have been putting a spring in our step since we first heard their Six Songs EP, which comes out on Mogwai's Rock Action Records tomorrow [Monday 16 March].Guitarist Rachel Aggs and drummer Eilidh Rodgers share vocal duties, and somehow manage to conjure up memories of both of classic C86 indie and the joyous pop of Zimbabwe’s Bhundu Boys. The result is an uplifting sound which demonstrates that with the right songs, two musicians are more than capable of making great music. Sacred Paws play Sneaky Pete’s on 25 March and Mono the following night, before embarking on dates in England and Wales. They then return to Scotland for Counterflows Festival in Glasgow on 5 April. Check out Sacred Paws track Vince below, then listen to the EP and go and see them live: Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon run music industry convention Wide Days which takes place on 10 – 11 April at The Pleasance Theatre and The Electric Circus visit www.widedays.com For consideration as our artist of the week or any other news please contact: Derick Mackinnon
